Much different than I expected. First there is no tower. It is a collection of buildings inside of a stone wall, near the Tower Bridge. There is a big museum in the armory and the crown jewels in the basement. There are constant tours all over where they show where people were executed and imprisoned, and the tour guides do a terrific job. I recommend it highly.

It was great. I actually went there a few times when I was there. The crown jewels are absolutely glamorously gorgeous to look at. They are soooooooooo sparkly! They have some shows there too and you can get a tour. My fiance and I just wandered through it. The guys like the armor section. I have to say that the jewels were what got me. You can also take pictures with all types of traditional guards.

There are also great sites to see walking distance from the Tower of London like Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge, and the London Dungeon. I think it's totally well worth a visit.

Good Luck.

hmm... it was disappointing. Maybe i built it up in my head.... but if you have a limited amount of time in London, i would check out a few other things like the art museums over the tower.
