Yes Gayathri,
Even new born baby should have a ticket for flight (both domestic and international).
The rate will be nominal usually and apart from that she/he will be charged with the full tax.
Baby should have a passport and Visa for the international flights and a birth certificate for the domestic flights.
The best option is to check with the airline authorities about the specific case!

Yes, you have to pay for a new born. Even though it will not be intitled to a seat. The charge is pretty nominal, you'll be required to pay a small % of the Air Fare.
You can ask for a bassenet to put the baby in.

Before you proceed to buy any air ticket, remember to get the new born a passport. Otherwise, baby can't even leave the airport.

Yes.
It will cost maybe 10 or 20% of the cost of a normal ticket and he or she won't get a seat. The baby will sit on your lap and/or sleep in a cradle-type thing the airline will provide.

You need a ticket. The airlines may or may not charge you. The fare rule varies airlines to airlines, but ticket is mandatory.
