I too have been married for 2 years and have been with my husband for 6. We to be honest have never had protected sex and have never been pregnant... We really thought we were just getting lucky until we actually tried to have kids then we realized there was a problem...I found out about a 3 weeks ago that I have PCOS...poly cystic ovarian syndrome so I am now taking fertility drugs... If your not having any luck and you would like to have children just go to your OBGYN and let him know what the problem is ... he can either give you a schedule of when to have sex or do a few tests to figure out the problem. The doctors are there to help so dont be afraid to ask for help and dont worry about the cost as long as you have insurance that will cover the visit . The fertility drugs like clomid are not really that expensive I think it cost me 20 dollars and I was expecting a whole lot more than that...so just go to the doc ...it will all be worth it in the end!

Yes, something could definitely be up. I'm not saying it's major, but you and your husband need to see the doctor. Most of the time, it's something that can easily be remedied but don't wait any longer!

Red Flags:

You've been trying for over 2 years and you're under 30 (is your husband also young?). Generally, if you're under 30 you should be able to conceive more easily. Most people should go see the doctor after trying for between 6 months to a year.

As a general rule- If you are trying to conceice for at least a year with no luck- it is time to see a fertility specailist. You should go see your OGBYN to have a yearly evaluation and fertility evaluation. Your husband also should do the same with his regular physician.
There are many reasons why couples take time to concieve, but most of them are treatable and fixable. Dont be scared or get worked up. This will find the cause of inability to conceice and hopefully get started on treaments or just get on some fertility drugs. Good luck!!!

Going to the doctor helped us to find out I was not ovulating and my husband's sperm count was almost nothing. We would still be trying with no hope if we hadn't gone to the doc's. I would get an appt. right away. Good luck!

If you're not going to go to a doctor, no one here can give you an assessement!

Get to a doctor, and have basic tests like blood work and a sperm analysis for your husband.

The testing is the only way you're going to get some basic answers.

You could go see a doctor, there could be something wrong with your cervics, he could have low sperm count, your timing could just be off, and then there could be nothing wrong.

Best way to tell is by seeing a doc.

Good Luck

I would make an appointment with my gyno and tell him/her your concerns. Also go to fertilityfriend.com and start charting all your info(temps, date and lenght of periods, cervical fluid) it will give you all the info you need. And its FREE!

only way to find out is to see a doc. have you talked about it with your ob/gyn. they will most likely ask you to chart your cycle, when you have sex, your body temperature, etc
