"A Wrinkle In Time" by Madeline L'Engle.

I also like "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway.

And "The Little House On The Prairie" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Oh, and "The Dark Tower" series by Stephen King; and "Bag of Bones."

Steinbeck: A Life in Letters, that his wife and friend compiled after his death, asking his friends and associates to send copies. Fantastic, fascinating, fun, funny, inspiring, educational, and engrossing.
