That's no surprise, depending on how hard you hit it.
An Ice Pack and as Aspirin should make it feel better. However, if at any time you feel nausea, or continously feel dizzy, you may want to be checked out at the local hospital as you may have sustained a head injury.

If you don't feel sick or dizzy and weren't knocked out at the time, just wait until the bruise disappears by itself. Otherwise see a doctor.
