Yes, I recycle!
I recycle mostly cans, plastic bags, and fluorescent lights and that's done easily through my work program.
The cans go to help build homes for Habitat for Humanity. The plastic bags are recycled into pillows and palets for emergency bedding cushions.
But the biggest one on my list is the lights, the mercury is going into landfills at a horrific rate per city, from there it goes into the ground water and soil, it is just an awful contaminate released into the environment and is 100% preventable...
Thank You for bringing attention to recycling.. it is so important t take care of our land, afterall, it does take care of us.

I started when I was about 25. It was never something remotely mentioned growing up. I take it all myself, every few weeks. I have color coded trash cans I use.
I have always found it rewarding.
I also buy products that are packaged in recyclable materials.
Re-using can be fun too.
I once saw a 4 foot retaining wall that was built with old wine bottles (whole) and concrete. The bottom of the wine bottles is what you could see. It looked fantastic.

I often recycle. . . But usually in less conventional ways. We use our newspapers in the winter to help start our fireplaces, I have quite a collection of cans from our veggies & etc for doing different craft projects (my favorite one with them is tin can luminaries!), I have a group of friends (as well as "FREECYCLE") with whom we pass along clothes ~ that sure helps! But I would have to say, I re-use a lot of stuff for my crafting. A friend lovingly called me "Gloria Dump" yesterday. (She was the elderly blind woman on the movie 'Because of Winn-Dixie' who had all these old glass bottles and such hanging from a tree in her back yard. . . I made a wind-chime from a recycled metal napkin holder, some silver-ware, and the beaters from a mixer that went out on me last month. . .) =) I also joke to my hubby that I would be happy working in a junkyard, if only to be able to take what I needed, too!
Have a great day!!!

Hi,
All the time. I'm Secretary of our village hall and we have recycling bins there. I find it more convenient taking everything there than putting different bins out for refuse collection (as we have to do here). We live a mile away from the road so have to take all our bins to leave there on different days. It's a new system and gets very confusing. Often it's easier to do-it-yourself!

I recycle paper and plastic. I make homemade wine and recycle the bottles. I would recycle more, but live in an area that doesn't support it.

I do at home and at school. Recycling at school is my way of encouraging the children in my class to start forming a habit of recycling. That way it becomes a part of who they are.

We have a huge black trash bag to put aluminum in, and my wife takes the papers to the recycling center when they don't close it down. It's awfully hard to find them since they are not very profitable to run. We take our coffee cans to the theater department to put parts in and use as paint cans, and we combine our trips as much as we can. We are not going to buy a hybrid because the batteries in them are not recyclable yet and they only last about five years. I have to haul lots of instruments around as well and there isn't really enough room in them for teachers.

I don't know if this counts as recycling, but I'm outfitting my boat
( which I intend to live on ), so I've built a filter for rain water purification, use solar panels for energy and I've got a charming
cast iron stove to burn wood thrown away with the garbage.
( they burn it anyway at the disposal plant ).
So I should be doing fine.
