I have a 1990 camaro and last night I left my windows down and guess what.............it rained, so my interior got completely soaked. this morning i had to go to work, before leaving I checked to see if my power windows and doorlocks still worked they did, and then about 5min into the trip my doors locked themselves, and since then about every 30sec the doors will lock themselves, but its not always at the same time, sometimes just my left will lock and then 20sec later my right one will lock, I can manually unlock my doors but now my powered doorlocks dont work. what is going on? think if i just let the inside of the doors dry it will work again?

Yeah i would let it dry first then if that doesnt work take it to a mechanic to test the circuitry.

I had this same problem after a rain and my windows went up and down by themselves. It turned out to be the relay. (black boxes in the fuse box. You need to look in the owners manual and see which one controls the locks.
Didn't make sense to me at first but I think the rain on the switches shorted out the relay.
Havent' had a problem since i changed the relay. About 40 dollars.

Hi,

Let ur car dry first.if possible open the side door panel and allow the air to flow.Dont ever try with a hair dryer to dry it.it may cause adverse effects.Mostly this is the problem of short cicuit due to the rain.

if nothing good happened then you have to contact a electrical guy only.beacue it is too tough to check by yourselves regarding the cicuits.

All the best

Somethings faulty.
Some cars do have automatic door locks after putting in gear and driving off.
Mine is a 2003 Ford and has that feature.

The camaro models sometimes locked the car doors once you started the motion of travel.

If you don't have that model which the car does that automatically, then your actuators have received weather damage.

if your car is about $67 bucks

sounds like the rain shorted out the lock switch in the door panel.

No way. For one ingredient it is irresponsible, for yet another i could be worried of what the motor vehicle could appear like as quickly as I have been given back. I basically take my young ones in with me, it is not that lots hardship. while my husband replaced into 6 his dad left him interior the motor vehicle, and my husband performed with the gears and ran his dad over. purely a broken leg, yet a lesson found out the no longer undemanding way.

Sounds like the moisture might have got into the relay for the doors. You might have to replace them if they keep doing that, especially if they didn't do it before.

I had the same thing with my wipers. Once they got wet they went haywire. After they dried they were fine. keep it dry and maybe it will work itself out, if not hit the mechanic.

I think its a safety feature. My 93' Thunderbird did the same thing.
