to sharpen an eyeliner pencil what do you use?
is there a specific tool to sharpen it that i need to buy?

I use a bog standard stationary pencil sharpener. Stick eyeliner in the fridge for an hour before you sharpen though - makes it easier!

You can buy a little plastic sharpener like school kids carry, only made for regular and fat eyeliner pencils, but in my experience the "lead" often breaks when sharpening.
I do much better sharpening with a small pen knife with a decent blade. It has to be wiped clean if any of the "lead" gets on the cutting edge.

They do make eyeliner sharpeners, but in a pinch I have picked up an unused regular pencil shrpener. They just don't give the best point. Make sure you never eyer sharpen in a sharpener you've used for a real pencil, though! That could transfer some nasty stuff onto your liner and subsequently into your eye.

Use a pencil sharpener, thats what eyeliner sharpeners ARE.
just don't use the electric ones just the little sharpener that you can fit in your hand with the two holes.

mom gave me a eyebrow pencil sharpener on one side and an eyeline pencil sharpener on the other a few years ago. She found it in a funny little store when she was travelling and I haven't noticed them in stores.

NO, you can use a regular pencil sharpener. Just go very slowly so as to not break the tip or make it too sharp to use...

they sell little pencil sharpeners. the ones i have are from Clinque & Este Lauder (sp). Go to one of those counters at your local Department Store.
They look like regular pencil sharpeners.

I use Chanel, they're great, they really sharpen the pencils.
