He wants to name her Sunshine Marie. I had a dream I had a little girl, and that was her name, thats where he got it, but I just dont know if I like it.

I would have to call her Sunny or something, & I dont like that!

Does anyone have any alternate names, that keep the same essence, but a little more new age hippie instead of 60's hippie?

Aster, Stella, etc. The thing is, if u love him take the name- it will bond him to the baby AND you. And- almost none of the kids I know use their real names in the family - nicknames are very common and useful.

Good Luck and have fun!

If you really don't like it, you should talk to your fiance about it.

Here are some ideas that capture the same idea:

Sol Maria
Soliel Marie
Eliana Marie
Marisol Marie
Kala (pronounced Ka LAH) Marie
Suri Marie
Sky Maria

They all have some "sun" meaning to them, but they're a little more subtle than "Sunshine."

Both "Sunshine" and "Sunny" would be great nicknames, no matter what you name her, since she'll bring sunshine to your lives!

Congratulations and best wishes!

You are sure in a bind. Honesty is always the best policy and telling him you just don't like the name is the best way to go. Why don't you encourage him to make a list and wait and see what your beautiful baby girl will look like when she's born. That way she can't "look" like a Sunshine but maybe he'll actually have some other names on his list you'll like better that she'll "look" like.
I thank God that I have two boys because my husband loves the name Ursula for a girl........

you could use a name with Sunshine as the meaning, like

Kiran- Ray of light
Lucy- Light
Noura- Light

Those are the only ones that sounded good to me. I looked up name with Sunshine as the meaning, and they weren't very pretty names. But you might take a look yourself.

Have the first name be Marie and the second be Sunshine...this way you won't really have to worry about calling her sunny

in my view, i might sense the ought to tell her if i became on your comparable capture 22 project. His new fiance is youthful and does not must be in debt through fact she has rather purely began her grownup life. it rather is too complicated to get well your credit and grow to be financially good as quickly as you owe hundreds of dollars. even although she will possibly not have confidence you it rather is greater suitable to make her attentive to what's she's getting herself into than have this youthful lady be sucked into paying off his debt such as you probably did. this could reason some issues which comprise your ex husband yet once you're telling his fiance with purely good intentions then you rather're doing the fabulous difficulty for her and their new infant. wish all of it works out for you. :)

How about Summer Marie. It's a compromise. And it's cuter than Sunshine. That's just weird. lol

I don't like Sunshine. Summer is a really cute name though. I'd switch it to Summer Marie instead.

LOL
I told my husband that he could name a boy and I would name a girl.
He came home one day with "Leonidis" from the movie 300...
Thank goodness we are having a girl!!!!!
I will never tell him he can name our baby again!

Maybe Meadow...? That sounds hippieish...I would say any name that is something natural would work if you want a hippie name.
GL!
