I watched my daughter go through this..and it about killed me!!
She was so "in love" with this kid..they dated for 3 years, and he gave her an engagement ring..and then got some other girl pregnant...my daughter was crushed, I told he to give the ring back to him..she did, and HE gave it to the pregnant gf!!
A few years later...she met a great guy, married him, and the pregnant girlfriend( now wife and mom) had to PAWN the ring to keep the electric bill on.mt daughter had a story book wedding, and her ex called her after seeing wedding photos in the paper, and on tv!! He said how sorry he was he lost her, and how beautiful she was..same guy who kept her crying in bed for 3 weeks!!..She said thanks, and dumping her was the best thing that ever happened to her....she married well, and will never have to worry about paying an electric bill!
Good things DO happen to the heartbroken...

Everyone falls in love and gets hurt, it's part of life. If you bump into them with their new mate, don't take it personally. Don't compare yourself to the new person. It happened to me. I though "is it because she has bigger boobs, she's more quiet and didn't talk back, she's smarter, etc." and then a few years later I met the best possible man out there and we have been married for 7 years now, so don't let this experience get you down. There is someone better for you out there, I promise that.

Really, I know how u feel. Even though I'm only 14, this happened to me. Last year I was with someone for nine months who did that to me. I was totally crushed even though we stayed good friends. I finally told him how I still felt after watching him with other girls all the time. He understood but I don't think he felt the same way anymore. Now I realize he really wasn't worth all that I went through. It took a some time but trust me, if u stay strong u can move on.

I'm 56 years old. So it's happened more than once. The first time it happened, I went home, got my gun and went looking for the SOB. Good for him he went to his mother's house, and since I had respect for his mother, I wouldn't go there acting a fool. After I hit my 30's, when it happened, I just looked at them and said so what - men are like buses; there'll be another one along in 15 minutes.

My heart was broken by my ex who was the 1st person I let my feelings show. He denied he was still talking to his ex, and come to find out, a couple weeks after dumping me, I saw him with her at one of our local hangouts. They were kissing, hugging, dancing. Then he saw me and tried to pretend he wasn't with her. I found the cutest guy in the place and danced with him all night, pretending everything was fine. He tried to get back with me a few days later, but I'd lost respect and feelings for him.

Yeah. He married his old gf, left me broken for years.
I was as polite to her as I could be. She never knew how bad I hurt.
