You should NEVER have to pay a fee for your child to be a model. Any "agency" that asks you to pay for them to represent your child is not a legitimate agency and are a scam. Legit modeling agencies will take on your child as talent because they believe they can get him/her work in modeling. The idea is that they don't get paid until your child gets paid, that's how it works. There are quite a few "agencies" out there that offer schools as well and ask for thousands of dollars to teach your child how to model. Do not fall for those, many people do. A good agency will help your child and get them work without a fee for their services.

In Chicago, some good modeling agencies are BMG Model Management, Elite Model Management, etc. But be aware that these are very competitive and you will need to put a lot of work into getting your child into a legitimate agency. Contact them about your child and how to set up meeting with an agent. They may ask for you to send pictures of your child, and if they like what they see they will have an agent meet with you who will decide whether or not to take your child on.
