I don't have any reccomendations, but I am providing a web address to free online books. They are mostly all the classics, so if there are any you have been wanting to read you will probably be able to find them on there.
I hope you can find something that interests you.

I recently read Joe Hill's book the Heart Shaped Box and it was excellent. Its a ghost story with a kick. Try John Twelve Hawks novels the Traveler and the followup just out called the Dark River. Good reads as well.

Read The Storm Thief by Christopher Wooding.
It's about kind of an alternate universe where people live in the ruins of what used to be a modern city, how they struggle to find order in a world they don't know the history of, and about how they find out about the people (their ancestors) who lived there.
It's a fascinating story...but I'm not sure what you mean by online copy.
Also, look at Elantris by...some professor. It's kind of the same idea, but it has a lot to make it worth reading.

If you enjoy history/science fiction, you should check the 1633 series of novels by Eric Flint. There are some free online editions here...

I don't know of very many websites with free manuscripts, but this is one of the best I've found. Enjoy.
