Contact the foreign legion while still in Scotland, maybe they have a way to get you in.
But traveling commercial transport, like plane, train, coach or ferry, you need a passport or an ID which is specially for international travel within Europe, (if there is one like that in the UK.)

But before you run away from home, consider it again. If you join the army in France there is no way back.

That's going to be a biggie.

If you live outside the EU, you'll have to get a passport. Sorry.

Im pretty sure there is no getting around that....you need a passport.
