I know the US government does not want to. If we have never removed their democratically elected President and installed a dictator puppet for British petroleum in the '50s, Iran would be our ally and a very powerful ally at that. They would have helped the US finish Saddam off years ago, but our government helped Saddam instead by supplying him with chemical weapons he used to kill Iranian civilians, and then our government took Saddam out 20+ years later, so, we lost 2 potential allies.

If Bush's wants to send more young Americans to died in another senseless war, he should look at others options first, and diplomacy is and option, if he had the common sense to have talked to Iraq before he attacked them, we would not be where we are today in Iraq 3,600+Dead, 26,600+ wounded.
I think talks are a viable Option, Iran's bomb is still on the drawing board.

Well, you don't think that the Saudis interests aren't a bit tied to the U.S? This may be why the U.S. does not want to engage in talks.

well, i'd like us to talk to Iran too.

seriously, -- the entire Sunni Arab world wants to contain the Shi'ite theocracy of Iran.

Most of them know that a theocracy isn't conducive to modern economic development and most of them have restive populations that desperately want economic progress.

oh.
