Good luck trying to figure that one out because when it comes to politicians wanting to get elected they will say anything they feel we want to hear to get our vote and once in office well, pretty much there promises go right out the window or they get selective amnesia.
So as to your question that is one all of us as individuals have to answer for ourselves because there is no easy answer to that we have to decided that on our own.
