I was watching TV the other day when this idea hit me.

well there you go, that should have given you a clue. Todays' kids are saturated in the media...and let's face it, the language in today's movies and tv shows is full of profanity, it has become "cool" to use foul language. Sad really, it isn't cool, it is just easier than actually learning to use the language we have to express themselves.

I think they really don't wish or mean to curse in the way many elders would like to either imply or impute it to them .Apart from the fact of following prevalent social norms as in fashion,food etc,the main reasons appear to be:- [1].Lack of serious thinking on topics before expressing themselves,[2]Restricted vocabulary,and the gapes and voids get filled with slang or curse words.So far so good,but the more serious implications are encountered in effective communication with across the spectrum of society viz family,peers ,professional colleagues and people out side their own society,say other nationalities and can have an over all restrictive effects in their personality development.There are other equally serious aspects but space does not permit to dwell upon them.Hope you get some 'hang' of it.

we young people curse because it is socially acceptable in our age group...plus it freaks our parents out. If we r teenagers and r rebelling...we are all about freaking out parents.
of course..i dont curse much because i respect other people. i only do it when i'm really pissed off. And even then i only limit myself to a few curse words...i dont use them all.

well, many young people today think they sound so cool to curse. and they think it makes them look older. either that, or they want to be like older family members or such around them. they hear them doing it and they want to be like them and do it too.

Because they have no parental control, no respect for teachers or police officers anymore. Its a badge of honor to have an ABSO that's the youth of today, how sad......

cause they don't mean it in the same way like the older people. They don't realize it so much!
