I'm a bit confused about the insinuation that Jews control the media. If we control anything (judging statistically speaking) it would be health care and finance. I'm Jewish and my parents would be devastated if I wasted my college degree on journalism . . . how did this rumor start?

Its all based on the Czarist forgery, "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion". The fact that it is a proven forgery hasn't stopped anti-Semites from using it to claim that Jews are out to rule the world through the media and financial institutions (its a pity we don't, I could really use some extra cash right now...)

The reality is that the majority of the major news corporations and movie studios are publicly held companies owned by everyone. And the reason that Jews got involved in the media business in the first place: At the start of the twentieth century being an actor/actress was NOT a prestigious job- in fcat, actresses were always suspected of being "cast on the directors couch" (lovely euphemism that...) So, as usual, the Jews as outcasts on the fringes of society, gravitated to an industry that was on the fringe of society, as they did with banking in the middle ages when they were the ones forced into the role by the Church.

. A very reasonable question, Charity. The fact is, when people feel disenfranchised, lack self-esteem, and just in general want to blame **someone** for **something**, they always pick on "the other", who usually is a minority group of some sort. As you know, we have been a minority most of the time in most places and, as such, make for a convenient target for the scared and the ignorant.

I don't know anything about a "Jewish media conspiracy" but I do know that there are about a dozen Jewish PR firms in this country whose sole purpose is to monitor how Jewish people, news, life is portrayed in the news.

This is why Americans have such a skewed view of Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

News organizations are TOLD, by these PR firms which words/phrases they may and may not use. Words determine HOW something is viewed, interpreted.

EDIT: Not a dozen people, sweetie.
A dozen institutions.
You want to make light of that, go ahead.

After all, Rupert Murdoch is just one person, too. And look at the influence he wields....

Editing the news media to portray a group of people in a favorable light is no laughing matter.

oh come ooonnnn !!!!!!!! this is not a rumour its a fact-
my friends father meets some of the family related to fox news regularly- they're all jewish, why do you think the majority of the western media always glamorise Judaism...

look up all the names of film directors , TV station owners ad look very closely at the way that they emphasise how subgigated `Jews were in history as if no other people, nation, or religion could have suffered as much as they did?

....very victim orientated...then they own the media on top of that.

The Jewish people tend to have better work ethics, better education appreciation and in general, better family structure than average. They also tend to have a bit of an elitish attitude - which can be good... or bad.

Consequently, they tend to succeed more often because of their cultural influence. Whenever someone succeeds, there are always people who want to blame them for their own failures.

That's what Adolf Hilter did... he blamed the Jews for the common man not having enough to eat, or enough jobs, etc. They were fairly successful and people were already jealous, so they were easy targets.

Instead of believing in some conspiracy... ask yourself... what can YOU do to improve your life and aspire to be better. There is a conspiracy... but it within us... not without.

They're dispaportionately represented among certain media, most notably hollywood.

It's rather like asserting that African Americans control sports.

There's a difference between dispaportionate participation and conspiratorial control.

Just listen to Adam Sandler's Hanukkah song.
It's blown out of proportion like everything else.
