Best RAM brands :

Honestly, there really is no "one brand is better than the other" with these two. It depends on the series you buy. If you buy Crucial DDR2-800 Performance RAM and Corsair DDR2-533 Value RAM, you'll think Crucial is better. Same thing the other way around. You might also want to consider cheaper brands that are just as good, just not as well-known; for example, Patriot, Buffalo, or G.Skill. The reason there is not much of a difference between the brands is because they all buy their ICs from the same companies. Micron's D9 series is what you will want for high-performance and high-cost, and you might want to stay away from Elpida. You can check your RAM's ICs here:

Some people will avidly tell you one brand is so much better than the other, but these people only want to be able to tell you how much they know about hardware.

OCZ and Crucial are the best RAM brands around today in my opinion.
Kingston *was* a great name in memory before they introduced their "Kingston ValueRAM" ... if you can find Kingston RAM that is not "ValueRAM" it will be good stuff, but EVERYWHERE you look now, the only Kingston RAM people are selling is ValueRAM, and sometimes they don't even properly list that it is ValueRAM. As a result, I do not purchase Kingston memory AT ALL anymore.
OCZ and Crucial have very solid products with great timings and performance, and they do not cut any corners. Even if you're paying a little more for it compared to some other brands, it's WELL worth it ... the reason the other brands are cheaper is because they are of poorer quality and will have a very negative impact on your PC's performance.
