I have never had a problem with the Internet. I have been on-line since 1997 via dial up or Broadband and The only problem I have ever had was a hard disk crash that caused me to do a complete rebuild.
Then again I do not download crap and I take precautions with proper protection software.
If you are having daily problems I would look at what programs you are using and what you are downloading....
Unless of course you use AOL and then you can expect problems...

I can go months or years with out having problems.
Often i see people that are having problems are causing them on there own and then blaming eihter, there ISP or the software they are using.
Etc you see alot of question about people that can't understand why there Internet has become slow all of the sudden, and then it turns out, they have installed like a million toolbars, and on top of that there computer is infected with all kinds of spyware, cause they either don't have a antivirus program, haven't updated it or didn't have the time or money to renew there subscription for it.
A lot of people don't do anything to update or clean there computers, and then they can't understand why they have problems. Well i can.
It's like when people hate windows and says it has all kinds of problem, and they get BSOD all the time.
If they would stop installing useless software, and take the time to to maintain there computer instead, it might actually work as intended.

I can honestly say that I've had years without significant problems... the occasional packet getting lost (a page not appearing or timing out) but nothing on my PC.
But that's perhaps because I'm an IT professional and I don't do stupid things like open random emails with attachments and don't surf without a firewall *properly* set up.

Yes. My both of my computers are clean and I never have popups, disappearing text, disappearing browsers, etc. No worries here.
And I use both Mac and PC.
Sounds like user errors to me, and/or malware.

Try running Firefox on Linux and see if you ever get a problem. It's impossible to get infected I've been trying for ages.

Now you mention it, I can't seem to get on the internet now. Maybe, if I try again in a minute, eh?
