The country has much to do with it. If you live somewhere where there is no freedom or democracy or liberty, in the words of some rapper dude who's name escapes me at the moment, "funk dat"!

THIS IS a very good questions, well , A happy person is happy wherever he lives, this is for sure,, i met 100's in e
Europe , states, ,,,,and they are not happy, and i met 1000 in Guinea ,Ghana , . and they r very very happy,, Generally when a person is not successful in his life,, he needs to blame something else than himself,,,, it would be the place where he lives
anyway, i always think Your country is where u can make a living,,, not in where u were born...U can add ,, the place where u can find people who loves u,,,

TO MINI MO WHO IS LIVING IN EGYPT : i AM from an egyptian origion, i have been in Usa and now in Holland,, and i also live from time to time in Egypt, You are still young, when U are older you will know that all the world is the same, and people arealmost the same , there are good and bad, educated and not, direrty and clean, the difference will be in there names, and the color of the skin,, and believe me -as a wise friend said -when i asked him about his new life in Canada, Different Kind of ****.... yes life itself is diffecult not Egypt nor Canada

and what do u mean by 2 class citizen , who in egypt is 1 class , do u think in europe people are treated the same, half of the clubs u can not eneter in europe if u were not wearing a prada shoes ,,,, and a rolex watch,,,, wake up people in all the world look to ur money not to ur nationality...if u wear prada shoes also in egypt u will be treated well....

Well, my country has a great effect on me, its not totally about the country but mostly yes!

I live in Egypt and i don't feel comfortable as we are treated 2nd class citizen, its very bad to be treated like this in and out your country!! No rules are respected, people never comes in time, education and crowd is the most thing we all suffer in here and for sure good job opportunities. I don't want to go in deeper details but yes I'm living now to travel i n5 years or less so I'm doing my best in my studies so that my great happiness might happen.

But i cannot live in jail till that happiness happened so I'm living too, the way i like, its just when satisfaction happens you feel the happiest in this world, I'm not so satisfied yet but thank god for everything till now.

Unfortunately , the freedoms of choice we enjoy aren't possible in many countries .

This can be due to lower standards of living or Government policies but the effect is the same ...less opportunities & freedom!

People can still live contented lives , just not necessarily fulfil their potential .

of course the country itself has an effect, you can never manage to live in a harmful or uncomfortable enviroment, that's why many people would for example prefer to live in clean, quiet places or near the ocean on the coast or in the mountains...everyone has their taste :)
and of course everyone wants to live in a situation where they can do whatever they want (legally, hehe).

there are maybe 2 or 3 countries where it is absolutely impossible to be happy now.
but the rest really depends on your circumstances more than your surroundings.

a mixture of both , I know that 99% of happiness is my call but if I can't manage my circumstances in a lousy country I'm going to suffer without any satisfaction
