The expectations we have for a president are very low. We have had some very bad presidents recently that have made most Americans skeptical and cynical.
The president should be someone who is honest, respected, respectable, and moral. The president should make decisions for the betterment of the country and does the job because they want to serve their country.
No matter which side of the fence your are on do these traits sound like Bush or Clinton?
Sadly the way our system works we will never see that person get elected. To become president requires questionable moral character, corruption, and dishonesty. The motivation for being president is power and money not national pride and or helping the nation or world. You are allowed to vote for the next person the government party allows you to vote for.
I had an idea for getting the right person into office and I hope we see it tried.
I suggest one of the networks designs a reality show much like American idol. The contestants would have to qualify and would be selected by the audience. The beauty of this is that the winner would receive money and free publicity to actually run for president. This approach would allow an above average person who is not corrupt or rich to compete and be taken serious. A real American worker could win.
Another approach is a celebrity could run. It may sound dumb but historically they have done better than most. Their motives are not money…they have plenty already.

By virtue of the position the president should be considered a role model. Unfortunately recently that role model has been tainted. We can not only use the president as an example what one can achieve but an example of some things not to do when one gets there.

I would hope that the leader of our country would be a leader in morality and in the american way. The american way means sometimes, you do what the people you serve want instead of proponenting only your own narrow minded ideas.
Sadly, good leaders are far and few between. If they're not having some intern polish off the Presidental doorknob, they're starting illegal wars and instituting torture as a form of interrogation.

Here's your role model. His resume includes, being a Muslim Getting into Harvard via Affirmative action. Buying his Senate seat. His wife almost divorcing him, until she decided different when the term "first lady" sounded good to her. Buying the election. Being a cocaine and heroin user. Adding 3 cabinet members to his team who were guilty of tax fraud. He has already gone against the dress code. What's next? Sandals, a sheet, and a turban? The economy keeps rising. Can't blame Bush anymore. That story is getting old. Yep, I definitely want my children to look up to him.

The President is the biggest Role Model. Whether he/she admits it or likes it. I would prefer to raise my children with a president who notices and relishes this responsibility.

He needs to practice common decency. I think parents should be role models. I do think the president deserves to get laid by various different women consideringthe stress he is under.
He just needs to keep his personal business out of the public eye.
