that debilitates cognitive functions and leaves only the primal need to feed. do you have enough food & water in your house to wait out the disease? do you have a way of securing your house so the infected will not be able to trespass your home? do you have a way of protecting your family from the infected? will the government be able to control the spread of the disease?

I live in an earthquake- and windstorm-prone area, so I have 10 days worth of food, water, fuel, etc., on hand. I do have a way of securing my home, and indeed of making it look very un-lived-in. I don't have a family, but I can certainly protect myself.

As to the government - I think they're already suffering from the nasty little bug ;-)

Judging from the idiocy of the people I encountered on my commute this morning, I would have to say that brain infection is already rampant. My answer to that, as always, is to spend as much time on my own property as I possibly can. It isn't worth dealing with the outside world most of the time.

What? Where? How? If the 'primal need to feed,' is only cognition left, you couldn't think of the others.

if that happened, i would just pray, and no, i dont think anyone could fully protect theirselves from that, also, what if a family member caught it? a child of yours? or a spouse? and no i dont expect my government to be able to protect me from major things, it takes them years to even find a solution /cure, and then longer implement changes/vaccines

I'd do exactly as I'm doing now.

Attempting to anticipate disaster seems to me to invite it.
