A few sips won't hurt, but you really shouldn't drink it anymore. Way too much caffeine and other things in it. I used to drink 2 a day until I found out that I was pregnant with my son (I was 6 weeks when I found out) and he is fine, but it's not worth the risk.

I've heard bad things about Red Bull. I think the jury is out on this one.

I think that if you have Red Bull only on occasion you're fine, but if you have it all the time I don't think it's good for you. In a college speech class someone researched this and said that it's been linked to the deaths of a few people. Is that true? Not sure...

Either way, if you're asking if it may have harmed your baby, I'm assuming you're pregnant. Try to avoid caffeine during pregnancy. Red Bull has a VERY high caffeine content.

the main things that you have to look out for is the caffine and the guarana.

the caffine should be ok, as long as you are not overloading of coffee or tea. high levels of caffine are not recommended for pregnant women, but small amounts (like the amount in half a can of red bull (about 50ish mg)) are not to worry about.

the guarana is more the issue. it is a caffine substance and is not recommended during pregnancy.

I would not recomment continuing to drink the drinks. as for harm to the fetus, that all depends on how good your body is at breaking down these substances, how developed your baby is, a fair slice of luck, etc.

P.s., doesnt the can actually say that red bull isnt recommended for pregnant women???

Probably not, primarily because while pregnant you should limit your caffeine intake, and monitor your consumption of sugar as well. Water and milk are always the healthiest options.
Did you know that while pregnant a woman should consume twice as much dairy as a non-pregnant woman? Between 4-6 servings of dairy daily.
Yeah. I'd back off of the RedBull some. Not that occasionally having a sugar-free RedBull would hurt. Just don't make it a daily staple in your liquid intake.

Look, ANYTHING you drink or eat, or smoke the baby gets. So take a look at the bigger picture - if the baby was on the outside would you give it redbull? No, is the answer to that question and it was in fact very selfish of you to drink it! I guess we should be pleased that there wasn't a large vodka in it, as then yes, you'd give your baby your brain damage and that definitely would be your fault!! It is trial and error but try to be sensible as it's only for nine months and then mistakes can last 70 years, which wouldn't be really fair, now would it?

1. Stop drinking it.
2. No studies have been done so even a doctor can only give you a best guess.
3. Chances are your fetus is fine, people are just extra catious, just in case. Herbal drinks/remedies etc. have limited use and documentation in western cultures.
4. There are people who are in peak of health who have ill babies and drug addicts who manage to have dozens of healthy babies. it's all a crap shoot.
5. Do your best to eat right from now on.

Samantha please don't worry, it has NOT harmed your baby but don't drink it anymore, it's packed with sugar, caffine and many other stimulents and is not good for a grown (not pregnant) adult let alone yourself and your baby but i cannot stress enough that by worrying about this and listening to some of these posts saying "what have you done" will cause you more damage than drinking half a can of redbull!

just stop drinking it now and all will be fine and don't worry yourself!

I would never drink it just because it has way too much caffeine in it and I am not even pregnant. So many people drink it not realizing how bad it is for you. But if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Just try not to drink it anymore during your pregnancy. And talk to your Dr. during your next visit. I am sure he can ease your mind and give you his opinion.

Did the baby keep you awake with all that stimulant? Best left in the tin or your husband. Drink water (very, very boring but the best thing for you and bambino). If you feed baby yourself too remember ....... it's just boring water then too, or yummy milk (oh the things we mums give up!!)
