BIC (or SWIFT code) is used to specify a bank that will receive an incoming funds transfer. Most major banks are listed in the SWIFT directory.

The IBAN (or International Bank Account Number) is a bank account number designed to simplify and speed cross border transfers. It's only used in the EU and a few other countries but should be widely available in many more countries.
