I would talk to your guidance counselor at school about what school you want to attend and what would be the best courses for you to take.

I believe that you can start taking AP classes beginning your sophomore year. If you want to get college credit, you should begin preparing for the AP classes you might take in your later years of high school. I took a whole bunch of AP classes and got credit, but this was not much use to me. My college advisor and premed advisor told me to retake some of the classes because sometimes AP classes are not up to the level of college classes

AP classes are the only accellerated courses that give you college credit. Remember, you have to take and pass the AP test for each AP course you take in order to recieve credit. Other than that, you can take honors level classes. They do not give you college credit, but they do look good on college applications.

Dont load your self up on all ap and honor classes because you are going to want to have some fun! try 3 ap or honor classes( if you have 6 classes a day) and if you can handel them then the next semester talk to you guidence counselor, and see if you can take more. colleges LOVE after school activities too so keep that in mind!
good luck!

well thats all you can take to get college credit unless your school has a dual enrollement program where you can take college and highschool classes at the same time. Also you could try doing a Clep exam which will let you get college credit.
