I am dabling in a business called Primerica, but I think the one thing stopping me from really going for it and really starting to make some money is the fact that I would be the money earner of the household...(getting married saturday and he only makes in the 30,000/yr area with commission...I make 21,000/yr right now). With Primerica our income could be endless...he wants me to get going and get him excited withthe money we make before he does anything with this.
My problem is I have always had the mindset that the wife gets to stay home and take care of the kids...which I can do once I make the big money. Please help me to get my mind on track so I can go get 'em and not feel cheated about having to make the money in the household.
Please dont be rude about this...be kind but firm.

I think my problem is I am afriad to be the main income....no idea way but I think in the back of my head I've always wanted the husband that made enough so I didnt have to work...but I know how things are today and I know that can't be the case. (unless we get the heck out of Taxachusetts.) LOL

Read the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. I just read it and wow! It is all about changing your mindset.
Whatever vehicle or vehicles you choose for your ultimate success, you need to change your mindset NOW.
It doesn't matter who makes the money. But even a combined income of 50,000 is a struggle for a growing family these days. And who can say what will happen in the next 20 years? Just look at the price of gas now.
Grow your mind and grow your wealth (time and money).

Well I assume Primerica is a scam.
But as for you, I'm just curious, is this the 50s? Give me a break. Women haven't been bound to being a secondary breadwinner for a LONG time, get over yourself, you're setting womankind back at least 50 years.
You want money, make money, stop making excuses.
The truth is you really don't want to do this, something of this reeks to you and you don't wanna go all the way in because you know it'll end badly.
Stick to living life, money doesn't buy happiness, if it did the USA would be the happiest place in the world since people spend more than they earn, but it's not, if anything people seem more depressed than ever. Spending increased 300% or so since the 50s and the happiness has been exactly the same.
Be happy with what you've got.

Now about being the bread winner; Alot of guys / men would love too have an independent women !
Many women these days are not independent, but clingy. They also have women who are both independent, and also a lovable terrific mother... You can be both !
Remember; Once you're married then its 50/50. What makes you better also makes your family better. The same goes for the man... What makes him better also makes his family better !
I understand your situation, cause I have been there. I am, and been the main bread winner. Also wanted my significant other (wife) to persue her goals, and become independent...But didnt happen... Got a devorce instead..* I left her * Laughs....

I agree with "michiganwinteryay", there is nothing wrong with a woman being the one who is financially fit to support the family.
I for one am a business owner and a woman but it never bothered me to be the one wearing the pants in my house. It never bothered my husband either becuase he's a modern man and he understands that it's not always the man who provides everything for the family. I do sometimes wish that I could spend all day with my kids because I feel that it is very important for them to have a parent with them.The difference between you and me is that I absolutely have to be at work every day because I have to know what's going, I run my business and I don't think I can trust someone else to do it for me.You always have to sacrifice something even if it's just for a little while, I'm sure your kids won't beat you up over it once they get older. Either way, you seem like you won't be out of your house for long.
ANYWAY,
The way that I always looked at it is like this, I would much rather aim at the mood and miss than aim at the gutter and make it. Your husband must also be very supportive of your choice to go work with this company,even at the beginning. It seems like he'll only be supportive once he starts seeing all the big bucks roll in and that type of attitude is not good for motivation.
Be glad that you don't have to depend on a man to support you. There are many women out there who would love to be in OUR shoes.

Women can be the main income in any household, it's fair. This is 2007. Women wanted rights, we got them. There is nothing wrong with you doing something big with yourself. You will lead your children in a good direction especially if you have daughters one day. If they see Mom did it, they will too. Go kick some butt girl.
