I would have to be a cat...

I keep silent and watch,
I am territorial,
I like to play control games with things I deem less...
I am aloof,
I am affectionate on MY terms,
I love the nighttime,
I am warm and cuddly,
Loud noises distrub me,
When the hormones kick in, I complain...loudly....
I keep to myself, yet want the comfort of a lap when I want it...

Yep. That's me...a cat! (A rather fluffy one at that)!

Despite what it implies, I'm probably a dog. My friends in college nicknamed me "Beagle," because I was loyal, trusting, and I had sad eyes. I tend to just sit and watch things happen, cocking my head every now and then at how strange people can be.
