My x husband owes me $9000 in child support, $4500 from our divorce. If he went to jail and then got out, do you think the guy would be a little pissed off and come after me?

Why not you have nothing to lose. Unless he will get violent and kill you.

It sounds to me like you are afraid of him. I would tread very carefully with him. You have a child. I am sure you watch on the news all of these crazies killing their wives. The go missing, and find them dead. You have to evaluate the situation yourself.

If he has a job, and is working legally (on the books), then his wages can be garnished from his salary. If not then I would just go to the police first. Have it on record that you are in fear of him. Change the locks on your doors. Do all that you can do to keep yourself and your child safe. Move if you have to.

No money in the world is worth risking your life for. I raised 7 children on my own. NO CHILD SUPPORT. But I had allot of moral support from my family.

Good luck to you, and your child.

if he was dumb enough to try then he would be back in jail.i cant believe the legal system hasnt gone after him any way.he took pleasure in creating the kid(s) you have with him but doesnt want to pay.well make sure he does.you can see if when he does go to jail if they will let you know when he gets out and if he even comes to your door call the cops.then get a restraining order against him.the kid deserves the money as well as you do.

If he's to go to jail it should be because he's violating the laws of the State you live in. That doesn't mean that you put him there. It would be out of your hands. Personally, I don't know how his going to jail would force him to pay....rather a forced payroll deduction instead.

I would go see a lawyer and then throw him in jail, while in jail I would get a restraining order on him. I would also get an alarm system and mase to put in your purse, buy a blow horn. Can't be too safe.

If he is unwilling to pay you then yes throw him in jail. His has to pay for his kids, he is letting them down, not just you. Give him a chance to pay up then call the police on him

I would. If he is paying you child support now leave him alone he has a home to provide for as well. I don't know why money hungry women forget about what damage they will cause to their children. Your question is all me me me and $$$ why don't you quit thinking about your selfish self and think about or at least ask about how this will affect your children. Your type makes me sick.

if he was violent before then maybe. u need to think about your kids before the money and work out if it really is wi=orth it. if he wasn't violent before then it should be fine but if he was violent before be very careful and don't make any rash decisions. speak to the police and enquire about restraining orders and your options. good luck.x
