Or should I take care of it myself?

A woman driving up my road had a 2 year old hanging out her back window like a dog.

If I take care of it, that kid will be in a child seat EVERY Time, I guarantee it.

I don't disagree with you in theory. But having worked for DHS in Texas, let me tell you, it's not as simple as them just making her get a car seat. She may even have one, and the kid got out (and yes, a 2-year old can get out of a carseat; my granddaughter had to show me how to get her out when she was 2). But if you get CPS involved, they sometimes go a little nuts. How would you feel if you saw them taking that child away from her family based only on your phone call? Perhaps you could tell the mother you saw the baby hanging out the window and it "scared" you because of the idiots on the road; or even leave her an anonymous note. Unless there's actual physical abuse, I would always make calling CPS my last resort. I know this sounds like I don't care about children, but that's not true. The problem is the people at CPS are just that - people - and what one person considers just minor mis-parenting, an overzealous worker will consider deadly indifference. Give it some serious thought about the possible ramifications before you pick up that phone.

I would definitely call the police and child protective services. If might be to late for her to have a better childhood but you can help her have a better teenage life. If that was your child you would not want her to do that stuff. I think mothers like that should be made to have their tubes tied so that they can't corrupt other children. I would hurry and call before it gets worse.

I would try to take care of it myself first then, if all's bad, do what you need to do. Some people get really offended when you tell the about their children, even if you mean no harm at all. Having your kid all over the place in the back of the car is dangerous and could potentially kill her kid, I'd just come to her as polished as possible and tell her about herself... In the most respectful manner. Good luck!

If you can with tact, tell her how VERY dangerous it is not to have children in safety seats, then you go you good thing.

But beware, if you loose it she may think you are a jerk and not get the message! i speak from experience here, having yelled at a lady to strap her kid down and all she did was give me the finger and speed off! Ignorance is no excuse.

Take care of it, sexy! I love a man who looks out for kids. You might as well take care of it, because child protective services probably won't make much of a difference.
Go get 'em big boy!

IN the city I live in, you can call the Department of Transportation and give them her Licence plate number and they will send her a letter saying there was a complaint and they will mail her a list of rules and regulations regarding child seat and safety laws....check into it.

If you truly care about the child's safety call child services. That woman needs a lot of help and also needs to have that child pulled from her home.

Can you live with not having responded should anything happen one day?

I am intolerant to any DUI I have come across (before they get into the car) and I say that I will call the police. Nobody are left in any doubt that I am gonna call.

Maybe you should mention it for sure, first

If YOU take care of it, the child will be in the seat... and you'll be in jail. Best call child protective services and act like a grown up yourself. Don't need two infantile adults running around.
