If there are no acting classes to be taken in your area go to your local book store or library and see what they have in the way books by reputable acting teachers, like Sanford Meisner and books on Stanislavsky. There are tons and tons of others. Also, there are videos you can rent/buy on acting. You could probably find information on those at a bookstore or library also, plus you could go online and look. If there is a community theater nearby, by all means go to auditions there. Many community theaters hold what are called cold readings at their auditions. That means you don't have to go to the audition with prepared audition pieces. You can read scenes from the script right then and there. I would recommend reading that script beforehand, however. Prepared auditions are much more involved and if you are required to have one then it's going to take much more instruction and advice than I can give here. It's probably best to find someone who knows all about that and talk to them, in depth about prepared auditions. Or you could email me and I'll tell you what I know. I have been a professional actor for some time now and I always enjoy giving advice when I can.
Theater is where most actors get their start. If, at the auditions, you try out and are rejected, please don't be discouraged. Keep trying. Just because you didn't get a part in this one doesn't mean there won't be a part in the next one. Take whatever you are told at your audition and use it; learn from it and remember it at the next audition. Also, if you audition for a play and don't get a part, tell the director you want to do something else backstage. Help with props, costumes, set building. Just being at the theater and working with others who are in the know, you will learn and being seen there working and showing interest will go a long way in your future involvement with other theatrical productions. Best of luck to you!!!

Find a theatre in your area and become active in it. It may be a community theatre, or university theatre, or local professional theatre. Get to know what actors do. If you can, find a group at your school that is involved with producing plays. Talk to your teachers and see if they can recommend an acting coach or workshop.

It takes some study and work to become an actor, but don't let that put you off. Keep plugging away.

Best of luck!

Get involved in community theater. Audition for local commercials. Take a class from a reputable school or improv company.

Go to ACTING SCHOOL. That's the only information you need. Find an acting class and enroll in it.
