At the debates couldn't we give them each their own personal polygraph and have the examiner tell the moderator if they are lying or not.

The machines would burst into flames in the middle of it.

Sure and urine tests too. I will be blunt. The scumbuckets would find a way to cheat, as in the past few elections. There is always the technology somewhere.

So far Ron Paul is the only honest man in the running so far. But the lying media don't like that too much so they are doing their best to keep him secret from the general dozing American.

Call me old fashioned but I figure the man who represents a nation should live by the values it espouses. And people tend to become what their leaders shape them into. America needs a huge shake up and a good honest leader with strength of his convictions. The strength to protect the people who elected him, not sell them further down the river. That is the current lot who have been running washington since they knocked off JFK.

This reminds me of an episode of Futurama, where they have a presidential debate and the candidates are put under a "truth-o-scope" (kind of a futuristic polygraph).

I think it would be great if that was part of the debates, but then we'd probably realise that all of our politicians are full of sh*t and have no one to vote for.

What will people think of next??? A polygraph can be manipulated just like anything else - that is why it isn't something that can be introduced as evidence in a court of law. Why do it???

Presidential candidates should take the polygraph so that those who are liars will be disqualified.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know who will likely win.

Unfortunately pathological liars can beat a polygraph. So, since we ARE dealing with politicians in your scenario...Well, let's just say, I would still not believe what they are saying.

No. Just look at their voting records.

Have they stayed true to the same issues over time? How many times have they flip flopped? Ron Paul is the only one up there I can trust.

No because they can be misleading which is why they aren't admissible in court.
