Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, tofu, beans, eggs, natural cheese, cottage cheese, vegetables and fruits should form the base of your diet. Protein should be the building block of nutrition. Consuming fruits and vegetables in their most natural form provides the most minerals and vitamins. Green vegetables provide incredible minerals that our body needs to help absorb vitamins as well as necessary fiber. Fresh fruit provides minerals, fiber and natural waters that are absorbed on a cellular level. Brown rice and oatmeal are very good for fiber and nutrition.
Take a good quality multi vitamin Twice daily. Also fish oil capsules, two capsules with every meal. Omega 3 capsules are also helpful taken three times daily.

Eat several pieces of fresh pineapple a day, or take 4-6 tablets of Bromelain (the enzyme in pineapples that lessens the pain and swelling of soft tissue). This is an old island remedy.
Oxymel was written about by a 1st Century Greek doctor, Dioscorides. To make combine equal parts of apple cider vinegar and honey. Mix one tablespoon to a small glass of water. It will taste like apple juice!
Good luck

A well balanced diet plus an age and gender suitable multi-vitamin. I've had degenerative joint disease (arthritis) in one knee for many years due to an auto accidentent and two surgeries afterward (1989). It has reached the point where there is absolutely no cartilidge left in the knee--shows up bright white in xrays. I've found that activity and excercise help to keep the joint flexible. Hopefully I'll not need knee replacement for many years. I'm 68 years old.
