Slave as in to set as slave I guess...

All u have to do is that open the tower casing and then remove the HDD and then on top of the HDD there is normally some guidelines on how to set the HDD to Master, Slave or Cable select..

What do need to do is that position the jumper accordingly to the guidelines on the top if HDD. Either on top or bottom.. This will set the HDD to the requested Master Slave or CS as in Cable Select.


If u are having 2 HDD then make sure that the slave HDD is in the IDE 2 and not in 1...

put the hard drive jumper to slave whitch shoud be the middle. when u plug the ide cable in the hard drive the last one is master, the second is slave but if u don't want to set it like that, i would put it to cable select because whitchever cable is connected in the hard drive will set it to slave or master depending witch one is connected

im assuming ur talking about ide because sata does not have slave settings

look at the back of ur hd where the ide cable connects
theres a set of 2x3 pins. there should be a diagram for how to set ur jumper to slave
