The military dictatorship in Pakistan calls the people killed in the red mosque extremists and that's good enough for them.
U.S. officials back that version of events and that's good enough for them.
If somebody lies to you every day for seven years, why would you attach the slightest importance to their words? Shouldn't it just be noise by now?

The problem with the Pakistani government: It is a military dictatorship that overthrew a democratic regime. Bush gave that regime its blessing and, much to the bewilderment of the international community, called it a great example for democracy in the region. They are also a big buyer of U.S. military equipment.

People have caught on but as most of us know who follow politics that they lie through their teeth to paint a prettier picture that will serve their purpose. When one tells the truth there are no other options...no where to go...the truth is out...what now?

Just yesterday Dr. Richard Carmona, Surgeon General from 2002-2006, reported to a government group that he was suppressed by the Bush administration in reporting scientific findings on many national and global health issues such as stem cell research, sex education, second hand smoke and other issues for political reasons.

It seems their political position is much more important than the nation knowing about the truth on health issues. It will continue until we find a way of stopping it...which I don't see happening with this administration.

My understanding is, those in the Red Mosque were trying to implement a Taliban form of Government in Pakistan. Extremist is a soft term for Radical Islamist Fundamentalist.
I think they were pretty much spot on.

Hey Dude!

If I barricaded myself in a place of religious worship, then used a woman or a child as a shield, I'd expect to be called an extremist.

That information my friend came from those held hostage in the mosque! Will you be as quick to say all Pakistanis are liars?

You are clearly misled and ill informed.

It is just noise to U.S. citizens. It's the stupid government who believes the lies not the U.S. citizens. We never bought the lies about Viet Nam either---it's cyclical.

We have caught on... what shall we do? Impeach for lying? No one is willing to do that.
Pakistan is NOT working towards our best interests.
Ever hear of Benedict Arnold?

I think most people know but are just too lazy and apathetic to care enough to take action.
