Francesca Lia Block's "Wasteland" made me cry. It's a YA book about a teenage girl whose older brother commits suicide. Her search for the reason why he did so is heartbreaking but well worth the read. Give it a try. It's not a very long book (more like a novella) but it's extremely good.
