I don't think there is a specific term, if that is what you are looking for. But best described is : A very heart wrenching tough decision.. to be made with thoughts, lots of prayers and medical advise.

That would be a horrible decision to have to make, but, I think even in the Catholic hospitals, the mother is saved, because she can go on to have other children. I'm sure there are many different things to look at too. Was the mother in a wreck and only living through means of machines, in a coma ? Tough decisions

a matter of life or death for you or your baby... the hardiest choice you have to make or a family member or even the doctor has to make. but i believe they always choose the mom over the baby because the mom can always adopt or try again. besides if the baby was to die during pregnancy or birth then the baby has a greater chance to die after its born.

i have complications with my pregnancy so i got life insurance if i had to choose i have already told my partner that the baby comes first not me it is the hardest choice ive ever made but i feel its the right one for me i couldnt cope knowing i killed my baby although i may go on to have more in the future its this baby i care about now and i know if i die my partner will have some money for a good life for my baby i hope you arnt faced with this choice just do what is right for you and your family

I would call this the toughest decision ever!!! I dont think they have a technical term for this decision though.
