I have 3 movies about this subject: "Helen of Troy" (1956) starring Rosanna Podesta as Helen; "Helen of Troy" (2003) with Sienna Guillory as Helen and "Troy" (2004) with Diane Kruger as Helen. Paris was played by Jack Sernas in the 1st film and by Orlando Bloom in the 3rd one. I forget who played him in the 2nd one. I can easily look at the movie box and tell you, if it is important. Helen was the world's loveliest lady of her time and inherited the throne of Sparta. She wed Menelaus, but Prince Paris of Troy took her home with him and caused a 10 year war that caused Troy to be destroyed.

Paris was a Prince of Troy and Helen was the wife of Menelaues (sp.), King of Sparta. Helen and Paris fell in love (the King was an old pig) and she ran off (boated off) with Paris which led to the destruction of Troy. They allegedly got away and lived happily ever after. Never mind Paris's family were annihilated along with his City.
This all according to Greek Mythology.

In Greek mythology Paris was the son of Priam, King of Troy.
Helen lived in Sparta and was the wife of Menelaus, King of Sparta. Paris stole her and a treasure, went back to Troy and that started the Trojan war.

the story of Paris and Helen and the Trojan War that resulted is told in Homer's "The Illiad". The war took place somewhere around 1200 BC. Homer tale was put together somewhere around 800 BC.

That means this story is at leas 2800 years old!

Try and think of any story today that will still be told and read about and known in 4807 AD!
