well my point is why bother answering in the first place. Not all questions have to be serious. Sometimes its good to be lighthearted.

Why o Why do some people insist on ranting in question form about how pointless other peoples' answers are?

Because we get 2 points for answering, no matter how pointless an answer. And if the question really is rubbish, the person deserves to be told.

It is the way of the world, there are those who answer without thinking and those who think too long without answering.
I would say there is a happy medium where perhaps 30% of the people who answer a question actually know what they are saying. Of course you know it is also relative to which category you place it in.

I call them point suckers. They haven't realized that there is fun to be had and there are friends to be made. They are completely wasting their time here. This is a community, not a point system. I just wish they would take the points away.
