I wanted to surprise this guy I was going out with once. It was Valentine's Day. And well...... you know that holiday is so "iffy." You just never really know what to do.... especially if you are dating someone but not in super duper serious mode. But I'm always in " fun and playful" mode. So I talked to his mom who had a key to his place. She was so sweet and trusted me and therefore, loaned me the key. (No... there's no fun dramatic story of me opening up the door and finding him in bed with another woman so forget that. lol But that would have made a fun surprise now wouldn't it? lol Ok... on with my story).........
So I went that afternoon of the 14th and just went crazy. I left a note on his front door that was the beginning of a scavenger hunt. It directed him to his oven in the kitchen where there was another cute note that directed him to the fireplace that directed him to the bathroom....... and so on and so on. With each note I included something fun and usually edible. (Like a plate of cookies in the oven...... a jar of fireballs in the fireplace... etc.) Well the last note directed him to his bedroom. When he opened the door....... he was bombarded with pink, red and white crepe paper and balloons wall to wall!! Gosh it was so fun doing that. lol Then in the center of his bed I left just a simple valentine's card telling him what a great friend he was.
He was surprised alright. He said he kept following the scavenger hunt thinking...... ok who did this and how did they get in here? He actually said he was scared to death to open the bedroom door cause he was convinced someone was in there!! lol yep...... he was very surprised. :)

Well, last night I was looking at yahoo answers. I like to answer math questions. One of the questions looked just like a question from a take-home math test I had just been given. I checked the person's profile, and sure enough, they had asked another question from the test. The chances of two questions showing up, from a hand written test, were pretty slim. Plus the fact that the person had just become a member and had only asked two questions, meant they had to be from my class.
Surprise, my answer to them was sto ask the eteacher in class tomorrow. I gave them enough information that they would know that it wasn't by chance. I did however tell them that I am not going to say anything.
I thought that was a nice surprise.

My best friend had lost both of her parents. This was the first birthday without them. We decorated her house. {The whole outside of it} When she came home from work, she was really surprised. She called me, and said that it really made her day. She did not feel so alone in the world, anymore.

Said goodbye to dear a friend the night before she was to move all on her own to a distant continent. I greeted her at the airport halfaway across the world and had arranged for all comforts to be installed at her new apartment, including groceries delivered and rooms full of her favourite flowers.
