The Stratosphere is a good option. It is usually the lowest priced place on the strip and the rooms are fairly decent. Nothing spectacular, just pretty new and clean.

The Strat also has a fun casino, a good collection of restaurants and the Tower is one of the must see attractions in Vegas.

The only downside is the location. It is at the far north end of the strip with only the Sahara in walking distance. The Duece bus run right in front of it so you can take that to other parts of the strip or if you have a rental car, the Strat is an easy "in and out."

Have a great trip!

Try the Imperial Palace and Harrah's, both right in the middle of the strip. Also check the rates at the Monte Carlo. Its a great hotel;I stayed there a couple times. Or try some off-strip hotels like the Orleans; it provides free shuttle service to the strip. Also the Gold Coast which is next to the RIO and behind Caesars. Then you can walk across the street to the RIO and get their free shuttle to the strip that will drop you at Harrah's.

I do recommend the Monte Carlo.

I was in Vegas a few years ago, stay in one of the 'Best Western' Hotels just off the strip, hotel had a shuttle bus to and from the strip. I booked thru Thompsons, whole package just over £500, but sure it will be dearer now. Have a good time I thought it was wonderful and I dont gamble.

I stayed at the Sahara - good returns on the slots as well, and there's a $2 trolley bus to go down the strip if you dont want to walk.

From my experience, Circus Circus and Excaliber probably meet your criteria.. For help go to the links provided below.

Look around the sites and you will also find inexpensive or free things to do while there.
