Anything in parenthesis is actually subscripted. If you could answer the problem for me that might be cool, too.

1) Consider the arithmetic sequence A = { An } determined by the conditions
A(n+1) - A(n) = 2
A(0) = 1
Work out the first 3 terms of the sequence and enter them below.
Separate the terms of the sequence by commas: 15, -3, 11, etc.

A sequence is just a list of numbers separated by commas. The sub-scripted A's are a way of identifying the numbers in the list. A(0) being the first, A(1) is the second, and so on.
Write the first equation as:
A(n + 1) = A(n) + 2
That says that every term in the sequence is found by adding 2 to the previous term. So the sequence is:
1, 3, 5, 7, ...

An means the nth term of a.p.

a(n+1) = a(n)+ 2. [ such type of formula given in question is called the recurrsive relationship].

therefore putting n=0 we get
a(1) = a(0) +2 = 1+2 = 3.
putting n=1
a(2) = a(1) +2 = 3+2 = 5.
etc.......
terms of ap are 3 ,5 ,7 ,9, 11 ,..........

The subscripts tell the style of atoms of the chemical image(s) it follows are interior the chemical compound in question. For AgNO3, the three tells you there are 3 oxygen atoms interior the given compound. For Pb(NO3)2, the three inform you there are 3 oxygen atoms interior the compound. NO3 is a poly atomic ion, so this is expressed such as parentheses whilst there's a choose for greater suitable than one (for that reason the two, showing the presence of two NO3 ions). So, interior the comprehensive compound of Lead (IV) nitrate, there is one Lead atom, 2 Nitrogen atoms (nonexistant subscript with N, yet polyatomic subscript) and 6 Oxygen atoms (subscript of three with O, multiply with polyatomic ion subscript of two. 2x3=6). desire THIS facilitates!!!
