Monarchy has nothing to do with fairness. It is based on patriarchal lineage for what was, a few hundred years ago, when kings led armies to war, good reason. When the rules for monarchies were initiated, there were clear divisions between male and female children and what was required of them. It's just the way it is, an outdated and redundant institution.
Just as an aside, the females who HAVE ascended the throne (not only in Britain) have made exceptional rulers. In most cases, far better than the males.

That's the way tradition always went, according to history. If the king had no sons, the closest and oldest male relative would be named successor. It was only when there were no male relatives left in the bloodline that a female would be named successor, but if she married, her husband would rule, not her. This is the very reason why Elizabeth I never married. She refused to have her crown taken away from her by a man. And guess what? She was one of the best rulers England had. She was revolutionary -- way ahead of her time in the way she ran the country. She proved that women can rule and do a good job, even a better job than men. For this reason, I think it's an archaic notion, even a foolish one, for only men to inherit the crown. Yes, the crown is only in title now, but it's still in international view. Women often have innovative ways of doing things, ways that improve their communities and the world around them. Why should that resource be ignored by leaving men only to rule?

The crown should go to the firstborn. When Queen Elizabeth's father died, she inherited the throne as the eldest of two sisters (Margaret) only because there was no brother to pass the crown to.

A monarchy is not necessarily meant to be fair. A democracy is meant to be fair, although, in this day and age,
that seldom holds true.

It's tradition, always has been and always will be, just like you'll always be sexist and die a bitter and lonely man. You say you don 't intend to offend people, but you always play men off against women. You're not on the side of women, in this question, you're just showing your arrogance, as always
