It is a combination of letters and a basket of fruits. I decided to use 2 strands for the letters and 4 for the fruits.(I'm using 10 count Aida cloth.) However I made the mistake of using only 2 strands in the leaves and I wonder if I can stitch an additional 2 strands over the ones I already did?

If you want it to look good, "frog" the stitches. "Frogging" is a little stitching term for taking out mistakes...because you have to "rippit" out. lol It will be very difficult, if not impossible, to get the stitches to all lay nicely if you go over the ones you did with 2 strands when you wanted to do them with 4. It stinks when you have to take out stitches, especially when it's a lot of them....but the difference it will make in your finished piece will make all the difference!

Yes you can stitch over the stitches already there. You will have to make sure that you poke the needle in the same holes the other stitches are in.
You could also add some beads to the basket or letters for
some sparkle or on other pieces next time.

Have fun and good luck!!

Yes you could but it would be very difficult because as much as you try it would not look the same as the rest of the 4 strand that you use for everything else. So I would say to make it easier on you just rip them out and start over you won't have to worry on how it is looking. Since you are going to have to go through them again.

Either stitching over it or frogging the stitches in question will be fine. I suggest stitching over first and then if you don't like the way it looks go frogging. You never know, you may be satisified with the over stitching. In the end it's up to you and how you feel your finished product looks.

Ordinarily I would suggest that you tear out the stitching mistake. Since it was the leaves you made the mistake on, go ahead and stitch over them again, carefully reentering the same holes. It will look fine.
