It is certainly not normal. If you had an episiotomy, or a tear with sutures this is probably the problem. These are often stitched by tired, well meaning, but fairly junior doctors and are sometimes less than perfect. You will need to arrange for your GP to examine you. It is likely you may need a gynaecology referral for revision.

Cubzilla,
A girlfriend of mine had the SAME issue you speak of. It turns out that her episiotomy was cut too far down and her initial stitches were TOO tight. Her daughter is 3 going on 40 and she STILL has sexual issues. You should see your GP ASAP. Good Luck! :-)

For me, it took a LONG time for my nerve endings to get right after my episiotomy...There may be some exercises or something. I am not sure. But things will return back to normal. It just takes awhile.

hope your not having sex right now with the pain...it sounds like your aggrivating scar tissue....
if the pain is UP in the abdomen middle and sides....then you will have to make an appt with a OBGYN.....
if it is by your exit....you probably have a cut in there that was irritated with sex..and could possibly be infected....you should dousche it every day....to keep it clean, but it would not hurt to at the very least CALL a gynocologist.

My dr. said KY, that most of the post-baby pain is due to lack of lubrication. I think you've got something more going on there, though, so I'd go see my ob/gyn.

Are you breastfeeding? Arousal responses are hormonal and can be influenced by the hormonal changes of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. If it's a serious problem (and if it's deterring you from having sex, it's serious), see your doctor.
