In 1994, we had a Democratic President and a Democratic Congress.
That was the year they cut federal education funding 16%
And killed national health care, by not allowing it out of committee to be voted on.
And thats the year they hired Ken Starr to investigate Clinton.
Funny how all three are blamed on republicans, when they were the minority party.

In 1994 it was the Democrats. That changed with the elections that year which swore in a new Republican Congress in January 1995.

technically it was poli-gridlock purple. political gridlock. there was a dem. prez. with Clinton and he lost super majorities in the house and senate as soon as he came to power in 1992. in 1994, the dems. lost both the house and the senate majorities...quite a bit...they got their butts handed to them by Gingrich and his "Contract with/to/for America".

Clinton was prez and he is a Democrat. I think congress was a Repub majority, but I could be wrong on that one.
