Ok so I am 15 and going to be 16 at the end of August. Shortly after I turn 16, I will get a driver's license which will without a doubt significantly improve my social life. But now I am out of school since it is summer. I am not attending summer school. I can't get a job for multiple reasons: 1. Its hard to get a job when your under 16 2. I have no means of transportation because I dont have a license yet 3. I cant be out on the streets often because I live in a bad neighborhood. So all I do all day is sleep and watch tv and eat. I barely talk to people on the phone anymore. I dont go out because I dont know many people that drive and everyone is having a life and having fun without me and they dont care. I feel like a low life. I spend most of the day on the computer trying to sell things on Ebay (I sold my guitar for 200 bucks) and stay up all night. What can I do to fix this?? I dont want to be a low life!

What about your family that you live with? Make time for them. Once you get out on your own, you will miss them. Spend quality time with them. Call up your friends and talk to them. You may not be able to see them, but a quick phone call to let them know you are thinking about them will be a nice surprise.

People do get busy with their own lives and it isn't that they do not care, it is more that their lives are preoccupied. You will understand as you get older. Don't let the negative get you down. Remember, there are people much worse off than you. Some people don't even have homes to live in. Have you ever seen Will Smith's movie called The Pursuit of Happyness? It is about a man who gets so down on his luck but he brings himself up and he is raising a 5-year-old on his own. It is a true story.

Besides calling your friends, you can write letters to people. Can't your parents or family bring you to someplace? Some places will allow you to get jobs with a parents signature only, mostly fast food restaurants. I detassled corn when I was your age. Someone else came and picked me up. You can also mow peoples lawns for extra money in your area.

Try to stay out of your room and mingle with your family. You can mingle with some neighbors too. You are not a low life. You just sound bored and lonely.

I think its positive that you atleast recognise that you dont want to slob around and do nothing constructive. Its also good to have an interest, even if it is selling on ebay. Maybe try and sell more stuff as a small business. But set a time frame so you have some stabillity and dont stay up all night. If you can go somewhere nicer for a while that might help. Do you have relatives you can visit? And make sure you try to eat healthy food and get good sleep or you could become depressed. Set yourself some goals, your on the right track

First of all your not a lowlife even if you do feel like one, cause lowlifers like being lazy. Do you know what you want to do/be when you leave school? If you do you could try to do something like a short course in that area at a local learning center or by correspondence , Or if you dont know you could find put about volunteer groups in your area and help out the community. People at volunteer groups are often young and really friendly. good luck.

Take the toddler for walks do no longer basically take a seat interior the homestead all day.

sometimes we really have this bad feeling of being useless or law life but we can do about it. call your friends to pick you up and stay to their company. go for a vacation or visit relatives to have fun. contacts your close friends and go somewhere that will make your days important.

Or if you cannot really go out.. do household task clean the house, clean your surroundings, help your family. make the day good and precious.

if you cannot have summer job you can sell outside your house. you can cook or make juices ,shakes or meatballs, fish balls anything for summer. i think it would be nice to meat your bad neighborhood and gain friendship.

Being lazy doesn't make you a low life. It's summer, relax for a while. Being 16 sucks enough, getting a crappy minimum wage job (the only kind you will get at 16) won't make it much better.

You poor thing. to be nearly 16 and living at home with no expenses or worries in life must be devastating. Just remember when you are a 40 year old bum living on the streets with nothing but your teddy bear how good your life was as a nearly 16 year old living at home with your parents was. Grow up child.

Go out and do some voluntary work, good for your social life makes you feel good helping others and looks fantastic on your resume (C.V). For employers it shows you didnt just sit on youyr butt all summer you got out and did something even if it wasn't paid.
There's lots of helpers wanted with kids projects, ask around ask your parents
Also they may take you on paid permantly when you turn 16

Good Luck

Study something in that free time (playing an instrument, a programming language, a foreign language.. something). No person with skills will ever be a lowlife.
