i have a Gigabyte V266B, chipset VIA KT266A, socket A (200/266 FSB), 5 PCI, 1 CNR, 1 AGP 4x, 2 DDR, 2 SDR, ATA 133, IrDA, 2 USB (+2 on-board), ATX

Uh... Gigabyte mainboard models are always GA-something. V266B is NOT a Gigabyte model number.

No, they cannot be used at the same time. Either one type, or the other.

Most motherboards will only operate on one or the other. if you were to put a 1gb stick of ram in each of those slots (being four total) it would most likely only register 2 of them (which two, i can't say for sure). my previous motherboard operated in a similar manner. except, when both sd and ddram were filled, it wouldn't boot.

yes you can, but you have to make sure your bios is set up right or it might not work, and when first using your comp, like you have,
make sure you fill each sot of the ram slots, so make sure you have the sdram filled, and the ddr ram, ok? or it might **** up.

Usually it cannot be, but depending on your Mother board, read manual carefully to see if it can.
