Naturally looking at it , it is for reproduction
Humanly looking at it , it for pleasure
Medically looking at it it is the meeting of hardened Penis inserted inyo Vagina and stroking till the male ejaculates
Psychologically same as medically but one thing is added that female is also satiated and reaches the orgasm
legally speaking , when male is of legal age and female also legal age , and male enters the femal with consent.
Religiously speaking . when Mind body and soul are together in here and now.

did u no theres a town in the us called intercourse. its in pennsylvania!!! i went to this gift shop there and there are these shirts and bells ect that say I LOVE INTERCOURSE!!!! hahahaha. i wanted to get one but my grandparents say no humor in it. hahahaha.

If you mean why it's done, it's meant for reproduction only, the other effects are nice, sure, but that's what it's meant for.
