I'm not excited about Bonds passing Aaron for all-time hr's. In fact I don't know of anybody who is. I'm not an A-Rod fan by any stretch of the imagination, but to say he will pass him soon is a bit premature. For one it will take him about 5 or 6 years to pass Bonds. Also A-Rod has to stay healthy, which he has been throughout his career but things can change at anytime.

A-Rod will pass Bonds in 2 years?

Bonds has 751 right now, 257 ahead of A-Rod. So, you think A-Rod will hit about 129 home runs each of the next 2 years?

I agree. Let Bonds be Bonds. Then when A-Rod passes him, in more like 5-8 yrs, we'll have the REAL PARTY!!

I love Bonds for one and glad that he's still goin after the record. What I would like to see though is he'd get to 754 and call it a career and leave everyone hanging, kinda like what Barry Sanders did in the 90's. I would honestly like to see Jim Thome break the record, but that's not goin to happen, so go griffrey and A-Rod

I think you just answered your own question. you asked why is everyone excited about Bonds RIGHT NOW. ( well RIGHT NOW Bonds is the one who is passing a record)

And you said Arod will pass him in 2 YEARS.

Thats when everyone will be as excited for Arod.

Records are meant to be broken; and when Arod gets there , they wil be excited for him .( like they are bonds ) WHEN HE GETS THERE.
Not before.

2 Years? Well if he hits 70 per year maybe but its unlikely. I would say if he stays on track with 40+ per year he'll do it in 6-7 years.

Bud is hoping it happens faster than that....if he could get A-Rod on the Rockies to start launching homers in their launching pad, he would.
