Women including myself often have problems conceiving when they feel stressed. When you think about it and contemplate whether your ever going to get pregnant it builds up a lot of stress. Believe me I know. It's very hard not to feel this way and to even stop. First you need to get seen by your OB/GYN and make sure that you don't have something medically preventing your ability to get pregnant. Your husband should also be tested. It's awkward and be a little embarrassing for most guys but the test is simple and you can even deliver the goods (lol) to the lab. Next, most women tend to ovulate between 2-3 weeks after their period so this would be an optimal time to have a lot of sex. Thirdly relax and stop thinking about pregnancy. I know almost impossible but helps. Try planning a weekend away during the ovulation time. Have fun, enjoy your days and nights without worrying. You might just end up like us with a nice surprise from the whole thing. But the key is to put it all out of your mind.

john t said repeated tries, but that's actually not the best way. The more frequently you have intercourse, the less sperm is in the ejaculate. I have heard the best frequency is about once a week.

You can get a lot more info on the internet, or in a health food store, the library (there only read the newest publications for the newest research,) and you may find some in baby speciality stores. Taking a college human sexuality course will be of life long understanding, as well. One internet source I found was: babyinfoforyou.com

I would say that the best thing i have heard for couples trying to conceive is to stop trying! Sounds weird but the more you stress and "try" the less likely it will be.

I got preg the first time by lying on the bed after sex with my bum against the wall and my legs reaching up the wall so that your body is at a 45 degree angle to the wall. Try and stay there for a good 10 mins straight after sex. Gravity helps the sperm swim up. Sounds completely whackey but it worked for me (got preg in the 1st month of trying).

I think a year is actually the average time it takes couples to concieve so don't be too hard on yourself. It will happen, relax as much as you can, eat well and get those legs against the wall!

Hope this helps. xx

I went to this site

www.babycenter.com

It has an ovulation calculator. You type in the first day of your last period and how long your cycle is and it gives you the best dates to try on. Good luck
